About Rich Fitness and Gains
I was once asked, “What makes Rich Fitness and Gains better than other personal training services and companies.” It took me a moment to process the question and formulate my response. I truly didn’t know what made me “better” than the rest. I had never spent an inordinate amount of time thinking about what other businesses did or what they were good at. All I knew was what I offered, who I was as a person, and what type of experience I wanted to provide to each and every client that entrusted me to help them begin or continue their fitness journey.
Well, who am I as a person you ask? I am an overthinker, over-analyzer, and definitely a problem solver. I blame my engineering background for that. How can that be a good thing you’re probably thinking… Well, you’re right, there are definitely some negatives to being an overthinker ha! But really, being an avid problem solver and overthinker has led me to never becoming comfortable and never wanting to settle. I want to learn and find ways to serve my clients better. I’m always asking myself how can I help my clients get more out of their workouts and programs I design.
I’ve coached high school basketball for over 10+ years. I think that has helped me develop motivational and leadership skills while also learning how to get the most out of people who are looking for me to help them become the best versions of themselves.
I’ve struggled with diet and weight management at different times in my life. Crazy, right??!? A personal trainer that’s had issues with weight and eating correctly… I can’t believe it either. But I’m human and understand all of my clients are as well. I understand how hard it can be to maintain a healthy lifestyle and I want to and desire to help anyone that will let me. That’s part of that problem-solving thing I was talking about earlier as well.
Last, but certainly not least, I pride myself on being a person that helps and serves others. I chalk that one up to my Faith and the way I was raised. When I signed up to take my ACE Certified Personal Trainer course to become certified as a personal trainer, the thing that motivated me the most was knowing that I would gain the knowledge and ability to help others reach their health and fitness goals. I was excited to be able to help my friends and family live longer and healthier lives. I wanted to help people reach their goals and change their minds about working out and eating right.
My most memorable moments as a high school basketball coach have nothing to do with a play I drew up or a defensive scheme I implemented to get a win. They have everything to do with the team’s reactions once they accomplished something they never thought they would be able to do. The look on their faces as they won their 1st district basketball game in school history and also when they came from behind to beat the state title favorites to advance to the state championship game will always be #1 and #2.
I strive to recreate those moments with all of my clients. That’s why I named the business “Rich” Fitness and Gains. I wanted every client to have a rich, genuine and authentic experience, knowing that they are valued and respected and that helping them reach their health and fitness goals is of the utmost importance.
Motivation comes from within — and I’m here to help you activate it.
